Digi-Scrap Share

Haven’t shared any digi-scrap pages in a while. I actually decided, a few months back, to step down from my position at Sweet Shoppe Designs. It was such a hard decision, but the right one to make. Life has just gotten too busy to devote the time that site deserves from it’s team.

But, I’m still designing for Zoe Pearn, who sells at the Sweet Shoppe, so I’m not completely gone!

Here are my most recent pages:

Christmas Decorating

I think most of you who read this blog are friends of mine on Facebook, so you may have seen this. But I thought I’d share it here as well, ’cause it’s just that great!

Enjoy!

Also – have you entered the $50 SHUTTERFLY GIVEAWAY yet? No? Well, why not???

That Time Of Year

Each year, about this time, ya know, end of November / beginning of December, I start to panic about our family Christmas cards.

This really is ridiculous because I’m sure none of our family or friends would lose a wink of sleep if they happened to not receive one from us this year. But it’s something I do every year. And I enjoy both sending them out and receiving them from our friends and family. It’s so fun to see how everyone’s children have grown and how families change, etc.

As I did last year, I’m leaning toward Shutterfly Christmas Cards. They have some great deals – you can check out their Special Offers page, as I’m sure they’ll continue to run deals throughout the holiday season.

They have really beautiful cards, but I’m just telling you, my preference in card style is really all over the place! LOL! I love bright, fun cards, but then I also love the traditional ones. Hmm….here are some of the ones I’m considering:

I guess it will really depend on what photo I want to use. Should I *try* to get one of the whole family to use or just use one I already have of when the kiddos were decorating the tree?

Decisions! Decisions!!

Okay, for a little legal mumbo jumbo…I’m supposed to tell you that this is a sponsored post, meaning that I am being compensated (or will be) by Shutterfly for posting about their products. However, I used Shutterfly long before I was compensated for doing so and would never lie on this blog about things I like just because I was being compensated.

And, since you made it through all that……

I’m doing a GIVEAWAY!!!! What am I giving away????

Well, for all of you last-minute card-makers like myself (or really anyone who wants to save some money at Shutterfly), I am giving away $50 off order of $50 or more (excluding tax and shipping & cannot be combined with any other promos (expire 12/14/2012 – no extensions).

If you’d like to enter, just leave a comment on this post, BY MONDAY, 12/3/12 at 11:59 p.m. (central time). On Tuesday morning, after I’ve had a cup or two of coffee, I’ll use a random generator to choose a winner!! Easy as pie! Mmm, Key Lime is my favorite, but I digress!

So, what are you still doing reading about my pie preferences???? Leave a comment and enter my contest already!!

My Little Author

Last year, when Wesley was in the 2nd grade, his teacher assigned his class a project for which they had to choose an animal from anywhere in the world. They had to complete a factual report about this animal plus write a fictional story.

My son, Wesley, chose to write a 7-chapter book about his animal. Thought I’d share it with you – ENJOY!

(Not sure why it’s not embedding properly. But if you’d like to see the book, you can follow the link to Shutterfly. Make sure to see it full-screen so you can actually read it!)

Email/Web Bargain Sites

Do you subscribe to any email bargain websites or visit any regularly? You know, like a daily deals kinda thing? I get a number of these kinds of email daily – groupon, living social, MyHabit, Mamapedia, One Kings Lane, etc. Many of these emails get deleted without even being read unless I’m just in the mood to look or something in the subject line grabs my attention.

Another one that I subscribe to, but actually LOVE is Zulily.

I have ordered a number of things from this website, including bathing suits for my children and dresses for me. One stipulation is that they get these items at these prices from the manufacturers for only a limited time and a limited quantity; so the items are not eligible for return (you need to make sure you really want it before ordering an item).

I ordered a dress a few months back that I absolutely loved: I know the picture is super tiny, but they didn’t have a full-size image anymore. You get the idea.

But when it came in, it had a strange seam in the wrong place. I tried to adjust it, when trying it on, to make it unnoticeable, but I just couldn’t make it work.

I just emailed the company yesterday to see about a refund. They responded back within the day saying that I was a valuable customer, they were terribly sorry that the product was damaged or not made correctly, that they would refund the total amount (which was actually originally a credit voucher anyway) and would add $10 more for my inconvenience. WOW! Now THAT is some great customer service!

So, go check out all the cute things over at Zulily! I am certainly not paid to advertise for them, and wasn’t asked to do so. However, when a company does that great of a job with their customers, the customers want to tell their friends!

I am occasionally sent offers and notices of contests from Shutterfly. Got one yesterday and thought I would share with you:
